I have also completed advanced certificate courses for preparation in working with maternity clients, which covered Pregnancy and Postnatal Massage Techniques, Birth Support Massage and Doula Skills, Advanced Birth Skills, Pre and Postnatal Fitness and Infant Massage.
I am presently a Certified Birth Doula through DONA (Doulas of North America) International. As a Birth Doula I have, as of June 2010, attended over 70 births in my six years of practice.
I am also a Certitfied Infant Massage Instructor through the IAIM (International Association of Infant Massage). I am so happy to have the opportunity to teach parents this valuable gift which has countless benefits for both parent and baby.
I have recently completed the certification process with CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) to become a Childbirth Educator. I look forward to offering childbirth education series to individuals and small groups in the coming months.
I am always looking for ways to keep current in the childbirth field and find joy through educating myself further in order to serve my clients in the best way possible. I am currently working towards certification as a Postpartum Doula through DONA International.
I have a genuine passion for all aspects of pregnancy, the birthing process, and the welcoming of a new baby into the world.

Birth Doula

A Birth Doula is a person who attends the birthing family before, during and just after the birth of their baby. The Birth Doula is trained to deliver emotional support from home to hospital, to ease the transition into the hospital environment, and to be available through changing hospital shifts and alternating health care provider schedules.
The Birth Doula serves as an advocate, labour coach and information source to give the mother/couple the added comfort of additional support through the entire labour and immediate postpartum period.
Postpartum Doula

A Postpartum Doula assists the new mother, baby and additional family members with the first few weeks following the birth of their baby.
As a Postpartum Doula, I offer the following:
- breastfeeding support
- infant care and advice
- household assistance
- sibling care
- meal preparation
- errands and other tasks as requested
Childbirth Educator

A Childbirth Educator provides informational and educational group or private sessions for expectant mothers/couples. Included is information on relaxation, comfort measures, breathing techniques, and encouragement of communication between the expectant mother/couple and caregivers.
Information regarding birth options is also provided, encouraging mothers/couples to be as informed as possible concerning the different options that are available. Medical advice is not provided. Referrals to appropriate studies and published texts are provided by the Childbirth Educator.
Infant Massage Instructor

An Infant Massage Instructor teaches holistic and natural ways to promote infant health, improve parenting skills, deepen bonding with baby, and strengthen family bonds.
Infant Massage incorporates nurturing touch, massage and reflexology in a loving, fun, one-on-one interaction which fosters the healthy development of baby’s mind, body and spirit.
